GENESIS OF THE ACT
The Employees' Condition Insurance Action, 1948, is a pioneering measure in the field of social insurance within our country. The main topic of health insurance to get industrial employees was first mentioned in 1927 by the American indian Legislature, if the applicability of the Conventions implemented by the International Labour Conference was considered by the Federal government of India. The Regal Commission on Labour, in the report (1931), stressed the advantages of health insurance pertaining to workers in India. One of the earlier decisions of the Labour Ministers' Conferences between 1940 and 1942 was to ask an expert to frame a scheme of health insurance to get workers. APPLICABILITY FROM THE ACT

Staff The term " employee" while defined underneath Section 2(9) of the Take action, refers to anybody employed upon wages in, or regarding the, the work of the factory or establishment where this Work applies.
